"Fathom" the GPO at Redondo

Post by orcasc205 »

As you may have seen, the MaST Center released a GPO last week named Fathom. The people at Seattle Dive Tours saw him under the large pipe the next day. Laurie and I dove today to see him and he was still hanging out under the pipe with a nice pile of discarded crab shells around him. It's a great opportunity to see a huge GPO in a very accessible dive site (poor viz notwithstanding.)

I saw him...he is too far back to get any decent pictures.
I hope he migrates to the boat when he gets bigger.
I hope he sticks around.

Kneedeep and I dove Redondo this afternoon and Fathom was still hanging out under the pipe.

Just went there this last weekend and Fathom was nowhere to be found. Anyone else spot him recently?
