Sea Whip With A Twist

Literally! I'd be interested to know the mechanism that caused it to grow like this. This colony was at Mike's Beach Resort on Hood Canal, Tuesday 6/7/2020. Depth was right around 95-100 feet.

Hmmm... that's an odd one for sure. Maybe it lived in an area with a persistent eddy current? Just a wild guess!
