Found him on our dive at Catalina. I initially thought this guy was a baby garibaldi but I don't think so. Can't seem to find him in my books. Help?

Maybe a juvi sheephead? Look it up and see if you think that matches.

Nope, the sheephead has a white stripe down the side, my guy doesn't.

That is definitely a juvenile sheephead.
The while line fades as they enter the intermediate phase.
