Weezle Drysuit Undergarments for Northwest Diving

If you are a drysuit diver and looking for a great undergarment to go with it, then it's high time for you to check out Weezles! I have been a Weezle dealer for the past few years, and have sold many a Weezle to NWDC members. No matter what season of the year, here in the Pacific Northwest our waters are CHILLY! No matter what the season it's time to start thinking about staying warm during those dives we're all planning.

Listed below is the entire Weezle line of drysuit undergarments, along with a brief description of their characteristics and prices:

1) The Extreme: This is the undergarment most commonly used here in the Pacific Northwest and is Weezle's "signature" suit that started it all. I have two of these suits and have never had a moment's trouble with them, once diving for a full week up in Barkley Sound with a leaky chest inflator valve on my drysuit and staying warm the entire week. This is the suit that first attracted me to the Weezle products. For most divers in the Pacific Northwest, this suit would be completely adequate for year-round diving. Available in Black, Blue and Yellow. The price for an Extreme is $335.00.

2) The Extreme Plus: The is a heavier version of the Extreme designed for diving in truly cold conditions. I own one of these suits but personally find that it is WAY too warm for me to use except during the most frigid months of Winter here in the Pacific Northwest. Having said that, however, my best friend dives HIS Extreme Plus year-round because he is so susceptible to the cold. This would be a good choice for divers that get really cold all the time, but for most divers this suit would be too warm in the Pacific Northwest, especially during the warmer months. Only available in Black. The price for an Extreme Plus is $350.00.

3) The Compact Suit: This is a lighter version of the Extreme and is designed for warmer waters OR for those divers using a neoprene drysuit, (for a recent comment by a Compact owner, see this post: http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=23162 ). The Compact would NOT be adequate for Pacific Northwest divers using a thin shell drysuit. Available in Black, Blue and Yellow. The price for an Compact Suit is $325.00.

4) The Oxygen Set: This is Weezle's newest product. It is a two-piece suit consisting of a pull-over jacket and bib-overall style pants. The two halves are sold seperately so that different sizes (tops and bottoms) can be combined. There are bungie snaps at the base of the jacket that connect the jacket to the pants so that they will not separate when donning a drysuit or during a dive. This two-piece suit has similar thermal qualities to the Extreme. Only available in Black. The price for an Oxygen Set jacket is $210.00, while the cost for the pants is $250.00.

5) Weezle Boots: Made of the same material as the Extreme, these boots extend to just below the knees and are designed to keep your feet toasty during dives. As part of an overal package designed to keep the drysuit diver warm, they are highly recommended. Available in Black, Blue and Yellow. The price for a pair of Weezle Boots is $80.00.

Regarding size - the suits are NOT form-fitting. You want them to be somewhat loose everywhere so that you can reach and bend. It is important to remember that Weezle undergarments do NOT stretch, so if you are right at the upper border of a size on the chart, it would behoove you to order the next size up. Many sizes have "Long" versions available, such as Medium-Long or Large Long. Many divers find that ordering a Long in their size gives them improved freedom of movement. PLEASE measure yourself carefully! I will order exactly the size that you instruct me to order....if it arrives and it is too small I cannot afford to "eat" the loss if you walk away in a huff. Please take the time to measure yourself correctly and accurately so that both of us will be satisfied with your purchase. :)

To go to a link that describes how and where to measure yourself, click on the following link, then scroll down to the section entitled, "How to measure" and click on the tab that says "Details": http://www.weezle.co.uk/products/undersuits.htm

Since I do NOT have a "shop", but work out of my home, I need to order each suit as a customer orders it. This means that you will wait approximately 2 to 3 weeks after you place your order before your Weezle arrives....but the wait will be worth it!

I thank you for opportunity of earning your business, and I very much look forward to doing business with you! Drop me a PM or an e-mail and let's get things rolling!!!

Best regards, and fastastic diving to you all!

John Rawlings

John, do you know anybody who is using the Extreme Plus who might be willing to lend me one for a dive? I just can't find it in myself to spend more than $300 to find out if a suit is a little warmer than the one I have now . . . :(

John,

When we get back from Maui, I know Derrick would still love to get together and try your undergarment on for size . . . if you're willing. :)

It normally takes less than two weeks for a Weezle to arrive here once I order it. However, we're fast coming in to the Christmas mailing and shipping season and international shipping can sometimes take longer die to the sheer volume involved.

I spoke to Paul and Hilary Child, the owners of Weezle, at DEMA, and they said that for people to get their Weezles by Christmas it would be definitely best to place the order no later than the end of the first week of December...and even then they cannot guarantee that the shipper would get it here before December 25th. So....my advice would be to order soon!

I don't want to let the "cat out of the bag" too soon....and no further information will be provided until he chooses to make its debut....but just WAIT until you guys see the "special" Weezle that Calvin is getting!!!!

Maybe you could try Melody's? Send her an email and ask. Maybe she could try your Fusion & mk3 just for giggles?

Has this latest and greatest gotten released at dema this week?

So if there is one thing worth buying for scuba diving in the PNW its a WEEZLE hands down. I use my extreme down to depths of 300+ fsw/ffw and wouldnt be able to do the hours of decompression with out it. its warm, wicks and drys fast if you have a flood.

LCF if you are wondering if its worth it, yes it is. $300 bucks is nothing to stay warm, and you are tiny, so the extreme plus is the way to go. Just buy it, and enjoy.

These suits fit in all dry suits, dont get stuck in valves, are light, and easy to put on, no need to layer. just wear your b-day suit under it, and dive.

So Lynn - have you ordered one yet? The extreme plus would be the one I'd probably need (looking back at our similar comfort level at Port Hardy)

Well, I didn't end up ordering one. John was wonderfully helpful in setting up an opportunity for me to dive one for two days running (you don't often get that kind of test drive on dive stuff!). I think it was just a bit warmer than my Mk3, and to my delight, actually appeared to require LESS weight. It was very comfortable and allowed a lot of mobility.

The things that kept me from buying one right now were that the zipper isn't bidirectional, so I'd have to poke a hole in the undergarment to use the She-P. And my MK3 has a rear relief zipper that allows me to use the bathroom without shucking the entire undergarment, something which is awfully nice for cold, She-P-less days. Since my existing undergarment doesn't REQUIRE replacement at present, I decided to hold off. But when it does, the Weezle may well be my next choice. I liked it a lot.

My extreme+ as well as melody's has a bidirectional zipper? The lower one is buried at the very very end and sometimes takes needle nose pliers to pull but its there. I actually poked a hole before I realized its there its so hidden.

Grateful Diver should post a comment here attesting to the weezle. His whole front was totally wet after each dive. He swore he wasn't cold just wet. Unless he was numb from the cold :nutty:

I do like the 2 piece but I don't think it comes in an extreme plus (does it John?)

Yes, every Weezle that I own (four) has a bi-directional zipper. As Richard says, though, unless you REALLY look closely you won't see it. After you use it for the first time, though, it's no longer hidden. Lynne must not have looked too closely (it was a brand-new one that belonged to someone else, so she was probably hesitant about poking around too forcefully).
Octoloco wrote:I do like the 2 piece but I don't think it comes in an extreme plus (does it John?)
That is correct - the two-piece "Oxygen Set" does NOT come as an Extreme Plus.

you do know Lynne that putting the 2 way zipper and a butt flap (may I call it that? ) would be really really easy....

FYI:
I just looked at the one's I have here in the shop... it's true, every one of them have the 2 way zipper...

I'm sorry, John, for writing that it didn't have a bidirectional zipper. You are right -- I didn't dig into the bottom of the zipper placket to see if there was another zipper pull down there.

I wonder what WOULD be involved in putting in a butt zipper . . . Hmm, should find a tailor and ask.

For a look at Calvin's new Weezle, take a look at this thread: http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=14798

With this cold snap we've been having there's probably some divers in need of a Weezle out there! I'm getting ready to send in another order....if anyone wishes to get in on it please drop me a PM.

I can order any product that Weezle makes....I just received some Weezle "Russian Hats" for some folks here and they are now enjoying nice warm heads at the dive site!

Tired of the old black, blue or yellow Weezles? For the Yanks (and Brits) that love their patriotic colors, Weezle has announced that they now have a Red, White and Blue undersuit, available in both the Extreme and Extreme Plus weights: http://www.weezle.co.uk/info/news.htm

Recently, Weezle "Skins" have become quite popular. Skins are special long underwear - tops and trousers - that a diver wears underneath the Weezle undergarment for added warmth and comfort. They come in two different thicknesses: regular "Skins" and "Extreme Skins".

If anyone is interested in getting some "Skins", here are the current prices:

Regular Weezle Skins:

Top: $67.50
Bottom: $61.00

Weezle Extreme Skins:

Top: $88.00
Bottom: $80.00

For prices on Weezle Undergarments, please see the first post in this thread. The prices remain the same.

I give a hearty 2 thumbs up for Weezle skins. I have a top that I LOVE. It made the difference between wanting to get out of the water at 28 minutes and being comfortable for an hour. I also have a Weezle beanie that I wear under my hood which makes a big difference. Can't recommend them enough.
