The Calm Under the Storm (Video), San Juans

Post by NollyG »

It took me a while to get this video edited, but here it is. This is my first attempt at narration, and it's not so good, but my feeling is, I've got to start somewhere.

If anyone's interested, the video was shot at Long Island and Bell Island. We went out with a plan of diving with sea lions at Whale Rocks, but that site was WAY too exposed to the waves. By the time we were headed home for the day there was gale forced winds recorded in Rosario Strait. Made for a fun ride. Thanks to Phil from Drivers Dream Charters (also know as Lu Jac's Quest) for the great work in the captain's chair!

Enjoy!

Guess somebody needs to show me how to embed a video in a post. Still new to this. Let's try a good old link.

Thanks Spatman! I'll try that in a future video posting. You learn something new everyday.

That's REALLY nice video -- very steady and well lit, and well edited. I took the liberty of sharing it on FB so that some of my non-diving friends can see how gorgeous the colors in PNW waters can be!

That was great, all the macro shots were so different than the typical videos posted. Bravo.

[sarcasm]Nice job Carl Gross or shall I say Nolan Sagan. Only thing missing was "....billions & billions of ..."[/sarcasm]

Seriously, I really enjoyed the narration. It adds a whole new dimension.

Keep them coming! :thumb3d:

I really enjoyed your video. I usually watch them with the sound off, but I turned the sound on just to hear your narration. Since I have been diving and cruising the San Juans for a long time, your video generated many questions. I'll just leave them unasked. As the others said, keep them coming.

Awesome shots Nolan. Your video makes the viz look better than I remember! I thought the narration was a nice touch as well. It would have been nice to get shots from the deck on the way back in but no way were they letting us out there.

Nolan, that was GREAT!! You definitely have a talent for this. Good soundtrack too. It actually fit the serenity of the scenes. Wonderful color. I liked how you paused and at first it would look like a photo - and then your eye would catch some minute movement. That was cool!
Were you on Lujac's Quest? What site was that? South side of Lopez?
