Spent a week diving in Hawaii

Post by theonly_JT »

I just got back from diving the Kona coast in Hawaii last week. Here's a little video I threw together from my trip. :partydance:

Thank you! I'm still working out how to get steadier shots and smoother panning with the GoPro. Even with the tray they're far from perfect.

WOW, I had no idea viz was that good there. Do you know if what you experienced was typical viz there?

I think from the two times I've been there typical vis for the islands is 60 feet excellent vis is a hundred feet or better...
I've tried to master that 2 fist closed airing technique but it's very very difficult.. Lol .. Kudos to that diver ..
Great video brings back some good memories of Oahu

I'm not quite sure what the viz is typically but they were saying it was pretty good when I was there. They also said that the Kona coat typically has slightly clearer waters due to the lack of wind and weather being on the leeward side of the big island. The DM in the video was pretty damn good with the closed fist rings, granted when you have nearly 10K dives you have a lot of time to figure it out.
