SS Governor

Post by Romer Treece »

Here is some of the video I shot last September on the Governor. Sorry, I'm so late getting it posted, but with 1 documentary and a bunch of other videos I have been working on, I've been a bit busy.

Enjoy!!

Awesome footage! Day 2 was probably the most epic dive of my life, so far. I'm still walking on clouds from it, 4 months later! Thanks for posting, Dan!

That was some good footage. Did you get to keep any artifacts? Or is that one of those taboo topics? I think I'd have wanted to keep a plate or teacup or something. What's the protocol for something like that?

Thanks for posting the video Dan!

I believe UAS does not permit removal of artifacts from the Governor.

Actually, we work with UAS and the artifacts brought up go to Bob to document, to secure his salvage rights. Last year our team and the SCRET guys all brought up artifacts for Bob who was anxiously awaiting in his boat topside. Artifact retrieval AND diving the Governor is HIGHLY frowned upon without the knowledge of Underwater Admiralty Sciences.

Yeah, but that's UAS getting artifacts for themselves... with salvage rights, they can take anything they want and authorize anyone else to do so as well. It's just THEIR call and I was under the impression that they didn't permit removal of artifacts other than for their own purposes. I think this is a great policy BTW.

You're right, but the folks who salvaged the items may get the opportunity to own said items after Bob is through with them.

Well, they're his to give away. Those who did the recovery for him, deserve them if that's what he wants to do with them. =D>
