Looking for a strobe to slave to my Canon PS 790 to use in our Northwest waters.
Recommendations and prices would be appreciated.

Re: Strobes......
Check with Jack at Optical ocean sales. He has a couple of reasonably priced units that would work well with that camera. One is the Fantasea nano strobe and the other is the Ultramax uxds-1 both can be had for around $200.00 and will slave off of your camera just fine. There are allot more expensive units, and I do mean ALLOT more but for a point and shoot it just isn't needed.

If you want something inexpensive, look at Intova ISS2000 http://www.intova.net/strobekit.html. You can find them at Amazon, Buy.com, Ebay, etc. Sync cable usually sold separately. I'm using two of these with Canon A570 - so far so good.

Yep, Same strobe as the ultramax but they are selling only the strobe head and you will need the fiber optic cable and a tray and arm settup. The ultramax comes with the cable but you still need the arms and tray.vlad wrote:If you want something inexpensive, look at Intova ISS2000 http://www.intova.net/strobekit.html. Re: Strobes......
Just to clear this up:
The Intova 2000 is last year's model. It is NOT the same as the UltraMax, i does not have a sealed battery compartment nor come with a sync cord. BTW, I have a better cord attachment now available and a diffuser is coming shortly.
