He his figured out that Sitka is cold water diving and that Sulser doesn't have scooters like Pensacoladiver.

Fellow divers: I am sorry to say that I will not be participating in this years dives. I may be able to get in the water a couple of times while you're all here, but my activities will be limited.

My sister has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of Inflamatory Breast Cancer. She lives in Atlanta and I will be travelling down again soon to visit with her and help my parents provide care.

I'll leave the shed unlocked, so if anyone needs tanks, spare lead or a harness they will have unferretted access to my gear locker.

Hope you guys enjoy some great viz and stay safe.

Dave you and your family are in my prayers, please make sure that Grace knows she can call for anything that she may need help with while you are traveling. Plumbing problems ,snow shoveling you name it .

Family time is the most important thing and you should not have to worry about Sitka issues while you have so many other things on your plate

How many Pelican Boxes do you need? I know of a tree that grows them. they are ready for picking.

So on a sidebar: Dave and I were talking at his house about different dive spots for you guys try out.

These two would be fair weather spots and would be a 2 hour or so run for Dave's boat, but it could be worth a day trip to hit Legina Island and Tava Is., both are right in front of Goddard hot springs. If you're looking at a chart online, it would be in the Necker Islands South of Sitka.

I heard about Legina from a troller buddy who stated they were dragging the wall there in the evenings on their way back to anchor. The chart shows 18 fathoms on the East side of the Island. From the chart and my friends description, it looks like it might be a very nice wall dive.

Tava Island is the next Island to the West. The chart only has a 43 fathom sounding on it between the two islands so, a second dive in between the two might be worth it. I know there is a kelp patch on the Southwest side of Legina, so I'm guessing there's some life in there.

And since you're so close to the springs, you could all go for a nice soak after your dives. The hot springs have new metal tubs that are the bomb digity! But be warned - SWIM SUITS ARE OPTIONAL!!

Just want you folks to know, that the channel in Sitka is nowq officially clean! Herb and Teka Helped me out last weekend, and now there is no reason for any of you big city types to come mucking around here looking for goodies - they're gone.
