Bringing a Scooter to Bonaire

Post by dewmercer »

I want to bring my Cuda 400 to Bonaire in November. A couple of questions:

1. What is the best way to pack it so the baggage loaders don't destroy it?
2. Should I carry the battery on? If so, do I need any special paperwork?
3. Any idea what the additional baggage costs are going to be?

Thanks

Give Ray a call at DiveX, they have special boxes that they ship Cuda 400's worldwide..

Actually, I think Mark has one at 5th-D, from my new Cuda I bought from him a couple of weeks ago.. If he hasnt tossed it yet, ask him if you can grab it.

I dont think they will charge you more than $50 additional baggage.. Make sure you have it insured though!

You could also call ahead to one of the reputable dive shops and have it shipped there.

If that fails, I have a Pelican / Storm case that fits mine if you want to borrow it.

you dont need any special paperwork for battery, its a NiMH, not Lithuim.. (I would however print the stuff from the FAA or whomever that NiMH is OK..)

The cases I made worked great. One even showed signs of significant impact.
