Hello everyone,

I am curious if anyone knows of a liveaboard dive boat here in Washinton state?

More specifically one that operates in May (my vacation)

If so please let me know if you have done them yourself and what your personal review was.

Thanks again everyone :)

Long live the PNW

I'll be on the Swell in two weeks. However, for some reason they're no longer picking up in Anacortes and doing the San Juan Islands, as we had been planning. We'll be further north, departing from north of the border, and doing the Gulf Islands.

I'll post a trip report when I get back ...

Someone in Anacortes complained, so CBP shut them down. That pretty much sux balls.

Merchant Marine Act of 1920 (Jones Act)

I am not saying it is right or wrong it just is the most likely reason.

Sorry, just from a quick read, this basically states that it can be done if the ship is owned, made and run by Americans? Is the Swell owned by Canadians? Just curious.

Owner Mike Lever is Canadian. FWIW one of it's main ports is Stevetson, just across the border. Ignoring border crossing issues it's maybe 1-11/2 north of Anacortes. I'll be on the ship with Bob.
