West Vancouver island operators?

I'm going to up around Ucluelet/Tofino later this summer and would love to dive the parks there. Anyone have recommendations or know of guides in the area? It looks like they lost a lot of businesses as there are a bunch of dead websites.

The only charters any where near there I know of are http://tahtsadivecharters.com/ (Nootka Sound) and https://www.facebook.com/Rendezvousdiving/?fref=ts ((Barkley Sound). Let us know if you find anything! Sounds fun!

Rendezvous picks you up in Port Alberni not Ucluelet despite being Barkeley Sound based. You can actually see their lodge on Google Earth here.

Peter and his wife (I forget her name) are good operators. They are unlikely to go out as far as Ucluelet, that's a lot of fuel for them and they don't really dive in the northern portions of the Sound that much.

There are no scuba businesses currently in Tofino, its more of a surf town at this point. You could call and ask one of the surf shops to see if there's a compressor running someplace out there. The scuba shop in Port Alberni closed a number of years ago as well, so absent local knowledge about a compressor, your nearest fills are way back in Nanaimo.

Peter's wife is Cathy, and they only provide diving ops for the people staying at their lodge. As Richard noted, Rendezvous is a long way from Ucluelet.

There used to be a dive shop in Tofino. I imagine they closed due to a lack of business in the area. Several years ago some of my friends went diving in that area and brought their own boat and a truckload of tanks. That was the only way they were able to do it.

Thanks for all the info. I'll keep poking around and post whatever I end up doing.
