My wife and I are planning a trip to CA for early summer and we want to do some dives in the Channel Islands. Does anyone have experience with a good operator? Any recommendations on the best islands to dive? We plan on bringing our dry suits. Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated.

Howdy!
Several of us went with Truth Aquatics in Nov 2015. That's the charter my friend who's a local diver in the area recommends.

It was fun diving, a mix between coldwater and tropical diving. We went on the Vision for 6 days of diving.

We had like 14 divers + 14 cameras on the boat. It holds up to 30 divers, Fully loaded that would be very tight, so ask about that.

We didn't find the boat entry to be very comfortable with a camera, pony bottle, and drysuit. It is a haul-off entry. Just be aware of that... Consider going lighter, maybe bring a wetsuit in case you can get away with it in the summer. (we used dry in Nov and found it to be needed...)

We also went on the oil rig dive, but it was a bust because they recently scraped all the marine life off it. So ask about that.

Great trip though. Have fun!

The Peace is a great dive op out of Ventura. We used to go diving with them every year for a while, and had a fantastic time ...

Some of us are diving with Truth this July. So if you go before us, we will be anxiously awaiting your report!
