It has been about 10-12 years since I have been down there but the diving and snorkeling are very limited. The beaches are beautiful in front of the resorts and are great to walk on. The water is a bit rough for swimming. It is a beautiful place and very romantic. :luv:

I just spent a month down there last april-may and the same a year ago. I haven't found any spots to dive yet but I didn't check with the hotels. I was about 2 hours south. The beaches don't drop off very fast. I swam out about 100-150 yards and was able to touch in between the waves. The currents can get pretty bad also. Most people that go there were surfing, but a year ago they had three shark attacks during the month I was there. My wife grew up in the area and she hasn't ever heard of anyone scuba diving there.
