Drysuit boots...

Post by bnboly »

Getting ready to order a USIA drysuit. Is there an advantage in NOT getting the hard boots that come with the drysuit?
It's not broken - it's just missing duct tape!

I don't know if there is an "advantage" to not getting the hard soled boots, except maybe price. I have the regular, softer soled boots on my USIA, and 5 years and 500+ dives later, they are in fine shape. I've walked over pavement, cement, sand, rocks, boulders, grass, hills, boat decks, boat ladders, you name it, and they have survived very well. When I get them replaced, I will get the same ones because I like the way they fit in my boots. My husband has the hard soled boots on his USIA, and by the looks of them, I would need new fins if I switched to those...big and clunky.
