Very grey area....There are discussions galore on this subject on this and other boards.

Now that is a good point. I mean dropping and losing a flashlight, computer, Fin (Ross), or something like that seems possible, but a DPV?

It's people like wlkerboh that make this sport so great. Finding an expensive toy and going thru great lenghts to return it.
Good on you! thats very very cool.

+1 to what Waynne said. wlkerboh is a great person for trying to return the DPV!
To dive? Or not to dive?... the latter is irrelevant! Get in the water!

Thems was my thoughts. At least there are no missing divers reported yet. If I forgot a DPV either I would be missing too or the whole northwest would be aware that it was missing.

I suppose the urgency of recovery is proportionate to the cost of the equipment. Losing a $160 Ebay special doesn't have the same urgency as a Cuda, Sierra, or the like.

When we found it, the back cover was off and the battery cable was unplugged. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that the entire thing is flooded.

Still, not the kind of thing that I would have left behind.

Thanks to those commenting on my decision to find the previous owner. If the tables were turned, I would hope someone would do the same. Besides, there was only one unit. I think it'd be hard to dive two divers to a DPV :)

I just got a call from a complete stranger, turns out my friends wife dropped her ipod at Tacama Mall. He ran the contacts till someone answered, he's returning it tomorrow. What goes around comes around.
