Nope, I can't get on either. Maybe the site is down for maintenance or something.

I'm assuming your avatar mask is a SeaVision mask?

How do you like it for fit and for field of view?

Yes, it is a Seavision. Fits beautifully, field of vision is not bad. Their masks are actually Tusas that are marked with the Seavision brand. Can't remember that particular Tusa name just off hand. John?

For what it is worth:

The owner of one of our dive shops is really down on the glue on lenses. His criticism ranges from the lenses falling off, to them distorting the mask lense, to being difficult to get in the correct postion for the user, to their being a focal point for gunk, to voiding the mask warranty.

just passing on his opinion.

Tom - try the website again. I just now went to it and cruised through each and every page without problems.

The Seavision 2000 series is the same as a TUSA Liberator. I don't really know about their other masks, (5 types in total), but I suspect that they may probably be from the TUSA line as well.

Here's a photo of my mask:

<a href="" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/207/4986 ... 2303ec.jpg" width="500" height="400" alt="DSC_0002"></a>

The prescription is ground into each lens, plus it "bulges" slightly outward in the front, (actually outward ever so slightly into the water), which is part of their method for dealing with refraction underwater. You should be able to see this slightly in the photo. I chose the the yellow lens for amplifying available light, and it works extremely well for that purpose.

Anyone that reads ADM will also have seen photos that I have taken of my best friend, Sparky, wearing a similar mask without prescription lenses, (although he has recently arrived at the point where he needs them!).

I had heard from people that the HydroOptix mask can help people who wear bifocals in addition to the normal vision correction it gives. And since you're nearsighted, you'd be able to get them in your prescription strength. Didn't somebody on this board have them?

Just ordered my SeaVision mask, bi-focal, yellow lens, purge valve. Put a rush on it so I can dive it several times before heading overseas.

I've heard pros and cons about a nose purge valve, the main con being difficulty clearing, the other con being it's a failure point and I'm going to die... :-) [-X With my moustache I end up clearing my mask ALOT, which is a real pain, and had a very good friend (who does NOT have a moustache!) say that they use it all the time, with no clearing problems and they love it! Enough for me...

We'll keep you posted on how it works out!

I'm excited! :bounce:

Hey, Tom.I dove a Scubapro mask with a purge for about 5 years and never had a problem with it. It'll be fine!
