Found a heavy-duty sewing gadget

Post by Matt S. »

I stumbled across an $18 tool which seems like it could handle sewing heavy nylon webbing, thought someone might be interested:

Looks cool, I needed some sewing done on a cam strap once. Took it to a marine canvas shop, super duty sewed it for 10 bucks.
Pop tarts and gravy,
It's what's for breakfast.

That's a widget that has been around forever. If you live in Seattle and want one they have them at Hardwick's in the case to the right of the pliers and probably at Seattle Fabrics too. If I'm hand sewing I prefer to use a sailmaker's palm and needle but it's a good tool if you haven't learned traditional hand sewing skills.
