Halcyon BPW.

Post by Linedog »

All you BPW users, I had a chance to buy a used Halcyon BPW package for a great price so I did. It comes with the pad on the backplate. Does anyone use it or is it going to live in my spare parts box?

I use a pad. Makes it a little more comfy. Especially I warm water.

I had one on of those on my old Halcyon bp. It seemed to work fine. I started using a DSS plate with the attached weight plates, but no pad. Can't say I really miss the pad. Might be a different story if I didn't dive with layers of drysuit and undergarments.

It wasn't in the way, so there was no real reason to remove the pad from the bp. I never did try dive it with the pad's pocket stuffed with a surface marker/lift bag/raft as it was advertised to be designed for.

I had a pad for cold water and used it a couple times in warm, then also moved to a DSS. No longer use it as I moved to doubles and didn't notice it wasn't there. I also don't miss it in warm... even in a 3mm
The ocean is a lousy teacher. First you get a test, then the lesson.
