Cuda 400 needs a new battery

My cuda 400 battery has finally given it up.
I know I could just send it to rabbitt and get it rebuilt, but I'm curious about other options. Anyone out there with a piranha and the Dewalt tool pack have any data on the true voltage of those packs? Would rigging up something like that work in the cuda, or would it just cut out all the time due to low voltage?
It doesn't seem worth it to build a custom Li pack just based on the fact that any efficiency you make up in battery weight you just add back in with lead.
Interested in any thoughts!

I have batteries for a Pack ... Casey Offord built one and they switched it out ... You can Have them for free

I use flat lithium packs for my suit heater

Yep I have some li-ion packs too. But in this case I am specifically looking for 20x NIMH D-cells to make a 20ah 14.4V pack that's heavy enough to sink an existing SLA canister at the 20ft stop in fresh water. And last ~2.5 hours with a minimum voltage drop under 40W load to no less than 12V.

Hey Jake - I had mine rebuilt two years ago by Batteryspace and the cost was around $400 plus shipping ($320 for the batteries and $80 labor). They did a top notch job and used hi quality cells. I haven't properly tested the battery but recently did a 70 minute scooter run and ended up towing my buddy and his Sierra back to shore (about 5 minutes) in top gear without the scooter cutting out.

I use an 18 volt lithium pack for my heating system plenty of warmth I get 4 hours of heat on it
