anyone ever dive the columbia?

A place for Oregonians to plan a car-pooling road trip, find a nearby diveable mudhole, and meet new local dive buddies.

Welcome to our "Fruit and Nut" bowl Kat. Not a lot of diving locally. I have dove the Willamette many times and the vis believe or not at the bottom is not to bad, about 5 to 6 feet. I have had worse in the Canal. You really have to be careful because of all the crazy boat traffic. I have only snorkeled in the Columbia. The current always seemed tough. There are several lakes you can dive in within a couple of hours of Portland, otherwise the coastal bays or head up North. See you in the water.
