I'm sure we will be able to go. I've been stoked about trying some diving at the Oregon coast (I was raised in the coast hills of Oregon) so it will be an adventure. It seems like Oregon has a lot to offer divers but you don't hear about it so much. Anybody want to go? :snorkel:

I'm not sure what sites they were thinking of: you could ping Jon Daane at 7C's scuba and see if he knows what he's going to do for that one. I'm looking forward to diving a bit in Oregon for a change. Course, we will be hitting Clear Lake on the 15th of this month too so Oregon freshwater :)

So---- this is not such a long way out now...it's like 2 weeks :)....

Anyway, its part of a 7C's shop trip and for those of you who haven't met some of the guys there; they are really fun people that just love to dive. I really have a lot of fun with all of them. This trip is a good starter trip for the oregon coast and we will be doing 2 dives at Newport in the bay at a place called the fingers on the jetty. There is a bring-your-own picnic at the beach and a beach cleanup going on. The next day (sunday) there is a behind the scenes tour of the aquarium (we did one at the Seattle Aquarium and it was a hoot). I know more than a few folks that are coming. It will be my initiation into Oregon diving. If you want to go, it's free (of course, the aquarium has a entrance fee) and just let the folks at 7c's know you are coming....they have it posted at their website. :partydance: :highfive:

What the splash time on Saturday? I've got some stuff going on that evening but might be able to make it out in the morning. Not sure yet. The tides are rippin that day. Is The Fingers a sheltered enough spot? I've been there but never dove it. Only dove up north in Tillamook Bay.

I'm not gonna have time to make it out there this weekend. I've got too much stuff to do to the house before winter comes.

I know I want to dive more on the Oregon coast so there will be more chances to catch up with you. I know what you mean about jobs around the house. I'll try to give a good debrief about the trip here.

This dive was a very cool experience!
Certainly another one I will put in my rotation for a yearly return visit.

Hopefully Gooch comes by with a good report and uploads his critter video!
I only got to see crabs, various little fish and a Lions Mane Jelly and didn't drag my camera around.

Getting more and more comfortable in my drysuit but more practice is always required :)

It was a good set of dives....I was actually a bit concerned after reading some site reviews but there was a lot of life and we had a great time. I'm soooooo glad we dove Sat and not Sunday---we went back to jetty to look around and there was a ton of wind, and whitecaps: I think it would have made the entry nearly impossible. I will make up a report for the dives :)
