Paddle Fins for Wetsuit

Post by BlowBubbles »

I have jet fins and when I'm on vacation in my 3mm my feet sink too much and I can't get trimmed.

I'm over 6' so my fins are a good ways from my BCD. Of course Drysuit is no problem. Looking for suggestions on trim or a fin I can frog kick and helicopter turn in.

I had to switch away from my beloved jet fins because they were too negative. I now run Hollis F1's and its about perfect. They dont quite have the kick of the Jets, but at least now I can easily hover.

Dive Rite EXPs are very light and great for warm water diving.

It's okay, I just had the same problem in Hawaii... Even with Hollis F1's. My solution? Dive overweighted like a st***e. At least I wasnt fighting the whole damn dive though. Next time I will be packing the lightest possible backplate I can get my hands on so that I can throw as much weight as possible onto my top cam band.

what kind of cylinder? single? doubles? what type BC or backplate?
think about how the other end of the teeter totter is influencing your trim...

OMS Slip Streams are Jet fin copies, sans the weight..

+1 for Slipstreams. I use them here (because Jet Fins don't have a foot pocket small enough for me) and tropical.

Great input, thanks guys.

I'm diving an aluminum BP and OxyCheq wings, no STA. My dives have been an aluminum 80. Though next year I hope to rent doubles with a different wing. I still use my XL 5mm High Tide boots with my 3mm full wetsuit.

I have had issues with dive companies allowing me to use trim weights on my came band, so all I use is a weight belt. Maybe place weight belt around my neck, LOL....
