Redondo 10/31
Redondo was great today!
I am still learning my new camera so I wanted to dive a place that would give me many photo ops. I recently bought the Canon S95. So far I am happy with the camera, but it has many more features than I have had in the past. I am working through issues one by one.
For the first 20 minutes or so of the first dive I was suprised how much particulate was in the water. As the water slowed the water cleared nicely, I had at least 30 feet of viz. I stayed on the big pipe for a large part of the first dive and took a bunch of pics. There was a nice variety of photo ops..sailfin sculpin, grunt sculpin, an assortment of rockfish.
On the surface interval I saw Bob Bailey in the parking lot. He was teaching a class. Seeing Bob reminded me of the SPL's in the shallows. On the second dive I went to the north and then up into the grass. It was too bright and too early.
No lumpsuckers , but all in all in great day.

Excellent pics! I especially like the sculpin. He reminds me of a muppets character. We should hook up for a dive sometime soon.

Nice to see you today, Bric. I went back for a night dive with some friends and we found several lumpsuckers. If you want to see them, you really need to go at night ...

That looks like a great new camera. Post a 100% crop so we can pixel peep. Are you still using your same Ikelite strobe?

A chunk of an image zoomed to 100% rather than scaled down for posting.blackwater wrote:James I am still using the same strobe, and I have an Inon Close-up lens on order.gutholmj wrote:That looks like a great new camera. Bric, I got a picture of the same decorator crab (at Redondo on 10/28) with the anemones on it. Pretty cool... huh! Nice photos.
