That's awesome news John! I hope they are covering the housing too!!

It was a great trip and I was glad to be able to come along, a much needed break from life with a 7 month old and 2 and 1/2 year old! I enjoyed meeting everyone and really enjoy seeing the photos, great shots folks! It's easy to get spoiled at Browning pass, it really is some of the best, if not the best, cold water diving. I just want to go back and keep shooting!! I'll put some of my shots up here as soon as I get a chance.

Cheers!

No such luck...they are replacing the camera and lens because they were destroyed, but the housing is "repairable", so they will only pay for the cost of repair. I'll probably get it completely refurbished and sell it.

Not quite so, I'm afraid. Here comes the one and only non-photographer in the bunch. My apologies for showing up a little late here, but I kind of waited until I could come up with a video clip or two to offer you, nice people, here. BTW, this guy is not a videographer either. The little GoProHero camera that was used had been acquired just before the trip, so I didn't look up at the HideAway like this weird guy that JUST dives :) Anyway, here is what I managed to salvage from the total of the chaotic footage that I've shot:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_mG7mdChGI

There should be 4 video clips. Enjoy.
Oh, and all in all it was a grand trip, eh? :) I hope to catch you all on the flip side.. Nootka Sound's been mentioned.

Cheers

Hi, Derek!

It's great to see you here on NWDC! That little video camera does pretty good for being about the size of a kid's block!

Once my hip is healed from the operation it's my intention to head back up to Nootka Sound, and I'll be certain to let you guys know about it when I do! In the meantime, take a look at this to whet your appetite:

Hi John,

It's great to be here. The camera does do well for its size and price. Half the time underwater I kept forgetting it was on me and shooting. Thanks for the link to the editorial. I read it a couple of weeks ago - scoured the whole ADM site. Nootka Sound sounds awesome and I am already looking forward to it. Good luck with the hip. All the best.

Nice video work Derek. That camera is really impressive; it's so small, and yet really takes nice videos.

Glad to see you on the board. It was really nice meeting and diving with you and Robert and we hope to see you guys again soon. Nootka Sound? Prince Rupert? The Canadian possibilities are endless; or you guys could always come down to our neck of the woods.........
