"Old Scar" Wolfie in the open water

Post by PapaZ »

"Old Scar" on the south wall of Sund Rock at Hoodsport - Hood Canal was out in the open.

Here are a couple un-edited video clips of him.

Nice. He's a big ol' boy. Would like to take a tape measure to him!

I've seen several Wolfies out in the open at Sund Rock recently.

What's up with that?

Nice pics! Sorry we couldn't connect for some diving

Didn't see any indications of low O2 when we dove there last week but that would be my first guess too. That first video shows the Wolfie breathing pretty hard.

Besides noticing that a wolf eel was breathing hard, what other indications of low O2 can one expect to observe?

GPO's really shallow and not denned, large schools of Rockfish really shallow, California Sea Cukes looking ill, Plumose Anemones flopping over.
