Sund Rock - 2/8/15

Post by Scubie Doo »

Had a couple nice dives with Mr. Gdog. First dive was to the cloud sponges, and the second to the north wall. Found a really cool fish on the sponges, not sure if it is a Fringed Sculpin, need help with the ID. Also, last time I saw a fish of this kind at the cloud sponges the warbonnets were gone. There was only 1 warbonnet tucked in really deep. May be a coincidence, not sure?

Here are a few pics.

There were some mammoth lines on eggs, I loved the eye on this one.

Here is the fish I need help on the ID.

Have a nice/safe weekend everyone.

Nice! I really like the wolfie teeth. The egg laying is pretty cool too!

Awsome! I think that is a threadfin sculpin (Icelinus filamentosus).

Thank you, I appreciate the ID. I had trouble finding anything on this. Are the threadfin rare?

Here is a wider angle of the same fish for ID purposes....

And the same juvenile wolf eel. Not only are his teeth dirty but so is his face. He needs a mommy!
