ThThTh 10/08 Trip Report!

What a fantastic dive! My longest ever! 101 :joshsmith: minutes for dive 185! So many Octos, Stubbies, huge kelp crabs, California Sea Cucumbers & a lumpy! :partydance: :taco: :eric:

Thanks to all 10 divers who showed up for ThThTh! YellowEye, DLH, Hoodsport Diver, H2Odr, Gdog, TangFish, DerekCs, MPenders, ScubaJess & Josh.
We missed Josh at dinner. :partyman: :burntchef:

It was great to start the dive, about 15 feet or more, but then the Redondo river starterd to act up and miso soup took over.

And I think the "tiny GPO" is another red octo. The GPO eyes look different. Bigger. Here's a younger, smaller GPO in a PVC pipe at Redondo a couple years ago: https://derekcs.smugmug.com/Underwater/ ... /i-NhhPNNg

I ran into exactly the same situation last night at Cove 2. Biggest red octopus I ever saw by far. I misidentified it at first as well. https://derekcs.smugmug.com/Underwater/ ... /i-FZqFnkR
