Diving with someone who has been banned...and for good reason!

Today I rolled the dice and decided to dive with someone who has been banned a lot, including from NWDC. As I put together my footage, it became very clear why he is a clear and present danger to scuba society. Reckless trim, can light on the left, upside down scootering....this is exactly why we need scuba police, and I'm here to serve.

Here is some of the damning footage:  :police:

cool vid though! :supz:

Q: is that reef an artificial reef, or more like a 100' rock type situation? how far did you have to go? much macro life on it?

Looks like the fish were terrified! Reminded me of why I like EUP so much.

Yeah I was pretty sure I saw an undisciplined light too. Good thing you were observing this nameless hooligan.

My only concern here is advertising an activity which is ... at least technically ... illegal. That would be using DPV's at Edmonds Underwater Park. Last I heard there's still a city ordnance against it, which means if you get caught by the EPD, you could be ticketed and fined.

Do so at your own risk ... I know people do. I don't think it's a good idea to advertise it on a public forum, as it attracts out of towners (like it just did on your Facebook post) who are unaware of the ordnance, and could have their day ruined by following your example.

I don't agree with the ordnance myself ... but it's never a good idea to advertise doing things that are illegal on a public forum, even if you don't agree with the law.

But it was for exploration purposes.

And the ticket would be for punitive and remuneration purposes for the City of Edmonds.

I'm actually surprised someone hasnt yet filed an ADA suit against Edmonds for this policy, as its discriminatory to any diver thats handicapped.

Truly reckless and scary.

Glad you were there to document.

And on another note, it was great to see a bunch of a site that unfortunately I don't get to dive enough!

What is that rock-like structure starting around 2:15? Haven't been there in ages but I don't remember ever seeing anything like that.

I have no fricking clue, but I have the exact same questions!

I've been calling it the "mystery reef". It's basically due west of the dry dock in 50-70fsw so it's a ways out there. There is a a lot more structure there than what is in the video.

To Yelloweye's question, I didn't notice a lot of macro on it.

There's a second dry dock out there ... not too far beyond the one everyone goes to. Haven't been there in years because it's seriously close to the ferry lane ... as is your rock reef if it's due west of the DeLion ...
