Sund rock: north wall 4/23

Post by mz53480 »

Gdog & I hit the north wall around 2:30pm. Tide was up and vis was mostly good! Saw the usual critters & features. Perhaps Gdog got some good pics...?

Dens must be tight. First old wolf eel was kind of chewed up.
I thought there were supposed to be cloud sponges deep?

those are just a rumor...pure speculation. No confirmed sightings.
Aliens!

The only things deep are the seawhips, a big anchor, the middle wall at 100ft, and the two deep walls at 150 & 180ft that Jeff P. knows about (...and those are probably suspect as well....)

I really dont dive, I'm just a keyboard diver.

That big anchor, is it about 4ft tall, pretty damned big? We have yet to ever find that one again, if this is the same one.
I'd love to find it again.

Long chain attached to it? South wall, about 110-120ft?

Yup....

This is the one I was thinking of. It has an anemone on top of it and a seawhip in front of it:

Hm.

Maybe I was narced. Weird things tend to happen when we get over to the canal:

That was one of the other anchors. It was shallow, over near the west wall. Glad you found it!

Wow harassing a crab just so that you can go work for National Geographic... :stir:

Love the movie but I think you should have filmed the starfish instead of the wolf eel

I wasnt harassing anything. I just followed it, then it got all pissy, and like "come at me bro!". *sigh*

Not too many starfish to film, and the wolf eel had more of an intrinsic 'bad guy' type aspect to his presentation. Starfish are more cute...like you with that bowl of jello...

the anchor we found was about 4ft tall, probably 6ft wide, standing straight up.

I've seen a couple of the smaller chain anchors at Sund, But this one was huge.
