Keystone. Great as always.

Post by theonly_JT »

Got to hop up to KeystoneJetty yesterday with Kerbyk, Gdog, Hoodsport diver and I'm forgetting the others, sorry guys! Anyways, met on the ferry and got to hear some sobering stories reminding me that "big ole blue is one serious place". Upon arrival the weather was... well overcast, and the water was calm! everyone arrives. 11:15. Splash time. After a short fight with the kelp we dropped. I have never seen so many nudi's anywhere!! They practically blanketed the rocks. Like go to put a finger or tripod on a "rock" anddd it was soft and squishy. Def not a rock!!! They were out by the THOUSANDS it was wild, even Gdog said he'd never seen anything like it. The currents were a little squirly at the start but by 55min into the dive they calmed down a lot. Thanks for staying down with me for a full 70min despite the less than stellar viz. It seemed to open up a little bit by the end of the dive however. I also noted that the water seems to have warmed up. 51 degrees, compared to 47 degrees at Keystone on 3/25. Got to meet some awesome people and I cannot wait to go back soon! A few pictures from the day.

Awful picture, but gives perspective how many nudi's there were.

Anybody have an ID on these nudibranchs?

Nice snaps! I'm glad to hear the barnacle eating nudis are back! Hopefully when they are done feasting we can have our pretty pink keystone rocks back.

I think those other nudis are diamond backs.

Sad I missed it, looks like you guys had a blast!

Nice new suit H2oDr! I like the red! :)

Hope to dive with you guys soon!
