Deception Pass gate still locked

Daylight Savings Time and 3 hour jet lag combined makes a lousy morning. I arrived at home at one thirty from trip to Yucatan's cenotes. I woke up at six and instead of trying in vain to go back to sleep, I packed cold water dive gear and drove up to Deception Pass to take advantage of nice tide exchange. Well, to my surprise, the gate is still locked! At the entrance I am told that it will open on April 1. So be warned!
They did let me in to do my star survey, but the visibility is very bad, barely 8 feet and nor really worth the hassle. No sick stars, but the Finger sponges are still dying :(

Ah, thanks for the report. Better, then, that I dove Port Townsend this morning.

Wow.. That is some bad Silty viz... Kinda Cool though they let you in VIP style for the seastar check up... Tides were very nice this weekend

Thanks for the heads-up. I'd planned to dive it Monday, because their web site said it opened at the beginning of March.
