Another sixgill sighting

Post by Jhelly88 »

8/10 at Redondo.
A bit beyond the carousel boat. Was definitely the same shark Derek snapped photos of. Encounter only lasted a minute but I was close enough to touch it (I didn’t :) ).

We saw her Tuesday night around the bottle field. She swam under, around and between us for about 5 minutes until she started to get a bit too aggressive for comfort.

Sigh.... I think she hates me. Or else I stink. Or something....

Absolutely beautiful video... she is gorgeous.

The one in BillZ's video is definitely different than the one I saw. Tail in tact and has that gash along the pectoral fin. Certainly more curious.

Great video

Great observation-- although you sent a chill down my spine. BillZ and I were doing some pretty fast helicopter turns, in effort to keep one shark in front of us. Little did we know there is at least one more lurking!

I just compared another video, from August 1st: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0a2TZc- ... e=youtu.be
I'm pretty sure all three photos/videos depict 3 different sharks!

That is a great video. I was there last Friday and got skunked. Well done! Can you tell us how deep you were?

We were at 90ft close to the bottle field.
