I know. It was tiny! I could barely see it with my naked eye. In fact, I pointed it out to the dive guide and signaled octopus, he shook his head “no”. He said there wasn’t an octopus there until I showed him the pic :)

Love the above water shots SJ and VJW.

Excellent and detailed report Jesse. Was nice to relive the experience. Love all your pics but the tassled scorpion fish is other worldly.

Wish our stubbies were colored like the bobtail!

Thank you for the detailed trip report! I liked how you shared how you got the shots too - makes me feel like I’m there! Love all the pictures but especially the intricate texture of the frog fish and the many colors reflected in its eye. Wow!

Thanks Val. Before we left there was so little info about Tompotika and the critters, so I really wanted to make sure I captured as much as possible in photo and word form.

Holy Spock!!!!! Super Beautiful pics Jesse!!! Also I love you super detailed report. You are the best!!! It was so much fun diving with you guys! I cannot wait for our next adventure!!!

I'm sooooooooooooo jealous of your super adorable harry squat lobster! I only got to see one little guy and he was way to fast for me to get a picture. I swear those tropical sea critters go to hide and seek school at a young age.

Thanks SJ and you are right! I know a lot of people think warm water is easier for photographs, simply not true! So many predators, warm water, and good viz, make these critters so skittish.

I am happy to report that I finished my nudibranch collection and Tompotika wins!

My Anilao collection yielded (67) beautiful Nudibranchs and Slugs.

My Tompotika collection yielded (76) amazing Nudibranchs and Slugs.

Keep in mind, some of these may appear to be the same. However, I have learned that the variation in markings indicate a different nudibranch in many cases. I need to triple check them all, but pretty amazing results.

Very cool, very impressive collection Jesse! Nice job!

And don't forget, on top of those other tropical challenges we also had to deal with extremely tiny critters and surge on many dives!

Were you all feeding sausages to the Pygmy Seahorse? That is the most portly and rotund little guy I've ever seen!

Awesome photos everyone! Looks like you have amazing adventures and earned lots of new stories to tell.

Cheers,
Dave

Followed the link to the entire collection and I haven’t ever seen so many diverse and vibrantly colored nufibrachs! Truly amazing!! Also really like the reef squid!

And dhl, I guarantee you the Pygmy seahorses were tiny!!

The backlit scorpionfish is a fantastic shot. The red glare in the eye is the perfect touch.

There are so many amazing photos in this trip report I can't really pick out a favorite. Sounds like I have another place I need to convince my wife that we need to visit someday!

Nice work ScubaJess :)

I am finally done with all my photos. Took a total of 2,066 shots and got about 500 good to great shots. Far better percentage than any previous trip. I added shrimp, misc fish, topside, and artistic nudibranch. See you all tomorrow, peace.
