Howdy Folks
Last weekend, Stephen Martin, VJW, ScubaJess, local Vancouver Island diver @Sophie_san_qc and I made a run up to Campbell River BC. We dove with Earl from Abyssal Charters.

It was intended to be our big coldwater reinvigoration dive after our recent trip to the tropics. Viz wasn't quite as good as we hoped, and we didn't make it to our desired destination, the fabled Seymore Narrows, but we did have a lot of fun! The weather was fantastic!

Some of the sights included: fields of strawberry anemones, walls filled with sponges and cuprcorrals, mating PS king crab, octo in the open, quite a few nudibranchs, etc

One of the highlights was diving the Argonaut Wharf. This is an amazing pilings dive, with lots of painted anemones -- one of my favorite sea creatures. Helped that the viz was better there in the shallows too.

A great time was had by all. It's great to be back in the cold water!

Hope you all had a great good-tide weekend!

Thank you. I've been to Campbell River twice now, both times I saw octos in the open. Sophie's had a lot of luck there too with octos.

Unfortunately both times I went to CR, we had bad luck with viz. I hear they often have great viz, include above average summer viz. Will have to go back and catch some octos on better viz!

Beautiful pictures! My buddy and I are going to try and make it up there Memorial Day weekend if any of the charters still have some room. I need some strawberry anemones in my life :)
