Howdy Folks
Last weekend, Stephen Martin, VJW, ScubaJess, local Vancouver Island diver @Sophie_san_qc and I made a run up to Campbell River BC. We dove with Earl from Abyssal Charters.
It was intended to be our big coldwater reinvigoration dive after our recent trip to the tropics. Viz wasn't quite as good as we hoped, and we didn't make it to our desired destination, the fabled Seymore Narrows, but we did have a lot of fun! The weather was fantastic!
Some of the sights included: fields of strawberry anemones, walls filled with sponges and cuprcorrals, mating PS king crab, octo in the open, quite a few nudibranchs, etc
One of the highlights was diving the Argonaut Wharf. This is an amazing pilings dive, with lots of painted anemones -- one of my favorite sea creatures. Helped that the viz was better there in the shallows too. A great time was had by all. It's great to be back in the cold water!
Hope you all had a great good-tide weekend!
