Northwest Dive Club

Several of the Ththth crew hit Deception Pass for the gate opening day dive. There were quite a few Marker Bouy members there as well. It was my very first time diving DP, and I was excited and anxious. Im so glad I went. The colors were a bit overwhelming. The current was all that I had expected, so I was prepared for that as much as you can be. Unfortunately my camera battery was trying to die, so I ended up with only a handful of photos. The real problem is there is so much life, where do you start?! The colors, the abundant life, wow. The dive went very well, met some new dive friends. The 2.5 hour drive north was worth it. I ended the trip with a post dive visit to Bastion Brewing for a really good burger, extra bacon, and a few fantastic ales. I look forward to my next trip there!

Looking forward to getting out there this year. I had camera problems too the first time I went there.

It was great to finally meet you in person. I hope you will make Deception Pass your frequent place (currents permitting) to dive.

How is that Bastion Brew Pub? Certainly be more convenient than going into Anacortes. NO WAY am I hitting up Skagit Brewery in Mt. Vernon during Tulip Festival. Made that mistake once.
FWIW the Bowling Alley in Anacortes is a gem.

I've given up on Skagit Brewery altogether, the food is not good anymore! Looking forward to trying Bastion. Sorry we couldn't join you GDog!

Fritz, it was very very good. The burger was very tasty, with extra bacon in the patty! The fries were really good, and fantastic ales. I WILL stop there every chance I get. I agree, Skagit brewing has gone way down hill. We had a bad experience last time we were there last summer. But hey, Bastion is actually more convenient anyway!

Sounds like it was a great get together last weekend! I was really looking forward to joining the fun and do my first Deception Pass dives, but I had to leave town for a funeral instead. I'm loving the pictures, and hope to make up there soon.

Such a fabulous time!! I love this site!!! Saw more pink and orange mouth hydroids than ever before! And more Nudibranchs in one area too - wow! The tube worms at the base of the wall was truly spectacular!! Happy to get to spend it with such great dive buds!!!

Around memorial day there are some days. We may do the Friday before memorial day. Then we're off to Campbell River/Seymour Narrows for the weekend if you want to join that.

There are several weekends in between that as well but before the second half of May.
