Whidbey Keyline Pie, 11/9/19

Last Saturday I got to take advantage of some special tides that allow for my favorite shore dive day in the sound. We headed out to Whidbey Island for two dives at Keystone, and then drove back to Anacortes for a dive at Skyline. Keystone of course was fantastic. The vis was good and the currents were cooperative enough to enjoy the end of the jetty followed by a pleasant drift from the pilings back to the jetty. We saw four different octopus without searching, mosshead warbonnets, cockerels dorids, scaled and heart crabs, and even found Hercules the Ling Log hiding out towards the ferry lane.
Skyline was a little murky but fantastic as always. Highlights were a huge sailfin sculpin, tons of RIL, a monster octo, cool nudis, and a bunch!!!!! of candy stripe shrimp. Unfortunately we had to head home right after diving so there were no awesome post dive food adventures to report, and I was too tired to fully enjoy the Fremont Brewing Chocolate Maple Bourbon Barrel Darkstar Stout that was opened with dinner.
