Large Lobster at Redondo

Post by Scubie Doo »

Got to Redondo early today for ThThTh. Unfortunately, I could not stick around for dive 2 and the BBQ. Had a very interesting dive though. Saw the new GPO at the pipe, Small Octo, got buzzed by a Spiny Dog Fish, saw a Mosshead Warbonnet, and came across a large Lobster. It was beautiful and looked delicious, lol. Seriously though, I know there was one seen several years ago. Wonder if this was the same. It was out in the open at 58' between the main line and the South bottle field. Here are a few pics. Had my macro lens, so the full body shots did not come out.

And once again we must insist that someone remove said lobster from Puget Sound waters. Your reward will be... a lobster dinner.

Didn’t have my catch bag and I was lugging a big camera rig or I would have nabbed it for sure.

Catch and eat. Invasive. Released by no doubt sincere, but misguided humans.

Great pics! Vibrant colors on it. Is that a Maine lobster or another kind? Will have to dive that side of Redondo next Thursday.
