40-50' at brace point until the tide turned (in the eddy) and then a wall of algae bloom lowered vis to 20' or thereabouts

Hood Canal, Dabob pinnacle 30-40' of vis and "warm" water at 66/53 at surface/bottom.

Two dogfish swimming near east wall came in very close for an exciting moment!

Alki fishing reef yesterday, 25-30ish. At one point, I could see surface waves from 55 feet.

Alki was 30+ feet this morning before the students got in. A little chunky up top but very nice below 40 feet.

Cove 2 was very nice this afternoon. Easily 20-30 at the beams (get by without a light), and from 50' at the brick pile, you could easily see the surface ripples. Viz was certainly better down below about 40 or so.

Eric,

We found the skates anywhere from 80 to 30 feet (we dropped down to the carousel and then angled north up slope back to the line a bit before the VW). And, by everywhere, specifically we saw 4. But, I've only ever seen 1 ever, so they seemed very plentiful by comparison! The largest one we spotted was around a depth of 30 feet on our way out heading to a safety stop. All but one were actively swimming.

I brought my video camera with the intention to do video and the conditions were great. However I left my sola's at home, so the camera stayed in the car.

9/4, 0630 Cove 2, almost 0' low tide. Shallows, 2-3', opening up to maybe 5 down to 35 fsw, then about 10 at the beams. Might be combo of tides and recent rain, but it's the definition of "craptastic".

Redondo - 09-03

0-10 fsw - opaque
10-20 fsw - chocolate milk
20-40 fsw - mix of coffee and dishwater
40-60 fsw - miso soup
below 60 fsw - manageable

Saturday at Sund Rock was a hazy 5-10ft and a warm 56F from the surface down to about 60fsw. Below that it was 25ft+ and a chillier 46F.
