For those of you who didn't take advantage of the tides and dive Sunrise......Vis was 15-20 fsw and current was nill.
I am posting pics of the walk down to the water since it seems to be a concern to some folks.

=D> =D> =D> =D> .
Thanks Ron! :supz:
It was an incredible dive!
Every thing went better than planned!
The GPO's, The Wolf EEL and so many things to see!
Of course the SPL at the end of the dive was a real treat, Good find Ron =D>
There was many sea urchins but that one big red one was Huge! (Like a large cantaloupe).
There is also about a million shrimp, a million Gunnels and allot of scallops too.
The improvement to the entry site is really nice.
They have put lots of straw down, so it is an easy walk,
even with wet boots. Everything is leveled out going down a nice even slope.
The only somewhat difficult part was the last push up to the parking area. But worth it, to do this dive.
If I have my pick between Day Island and Sunrise, I will go to Sunrise!

The current Gods were on our side for this dive! :occasion5:

It really was amazing! No current on entry. A slight, southward current about 15-20 minutes in and then a gentle northbound current at about 48 minutes to push us back to the entry.
Now if they would only open that large lower field to parking..........

Great pics, great report, though you should post a separate report and not clog up the Viz Reports thread!

A Pacific Spiny Lumpsucker!?! :smt119

Three Tree 12/7. Probably in the 40' range. It was amazing. No current, flat water, great viz. Didn't see the huge octos in the tire pile but Jeanne found a small one under the cabin cruiser.
2 great dives. No other divers were there the whole time we were there. I found that a bit strange but there certainly was a lot of room for parking.

12/7/08. Titlow was an aquarium. Probably 40 feet of vis in beautiful blue water. One of those dives that make you glad just to be alive.

Vis was ~15-20' @ ~45fsw, and just a very slight south current.

Sorry? :dontknow: what's 'green water'?
(I'm using a FL filter on the camera, maybe that has to do with the color?)

Thanks! :salute:

what kind of filter is that? does it add magenta to the image?

thanks.

Hi,
yes I think it helps for the loss of red color at depth. Here's where I got it from:
http://cgi.ebay.com/37mm-Polarized-Came ... otohosting

It's not a 'red' looking filter, but more of the 'magenta' you refer to.
I think FL means 'fluorescent' filter, mostly used when imaging indoors with fluorescent lights, but it seems to work ok underwater too.... :bounce:

thanks for the link. yeah, adding magenta offsets the pervasive green in our waters. if you ever white balance a digital camera at 60', then look at it topside, the image is saturated with magenta.

Day Island on 12/26/08 = 15' to 20' depending on depth.
GPO's looked great from a few feet away and the big Sea lion that swam all around us, looked good too! :supz:
