Went to Sund Rock yesterday, 10-17, and it was very bad at the surface to about 35 fsw. Below 35', it opened up to a quite decent 15 fsw viz (defined as the ability to see how many fingers someone is holding up 15 feet away).

I'd say viz is pretty much down to average.

Alki/Seacrest Cove 2: Thursday Oct 15th:
- 7p: 15 ft viz. #octopus count: 3
San Juans: Saturday Oct 17th:
- Dinner Rock 10:30a 30 ft viz (below 60 fsw)
- Noon Eagle Pt. Noon 25 ft viz

Any reports on Redondo by any chance? I am diving there tomorrow with a group.

Update @ 1:55 AM: Dove Redondo today, well yesterday now but I thought the viz was really good. There were quite a few divers there when we arrived, looked like a rescue class maybe with with some smaller groups of friends diving together. We talked to one diver coming out of the water and he said it was pretty good for Redondo so I was thinking it was gonna be kind of murky. When we dropped in at the end of the pier I was pleasantly surprised that I could at least 30'. We saw 4 or 5 octo's on our first dive, that was really cool, I love checking out the octo's.

Below 70ft in hood canal at pulali and rosie's ravine is exceptional right now. At least 50ft.

From 0 to 30 its poo, like 7ft, from 30 to 70 is good (20-25), you got to get below 60 70ish before it really opens up. No sign of hypoxia stress.

vis was around 15-20 feet last night at Mukilteo t-dock, at high tide (with a bit of current moving)

Cove 2 today was really good down below about 50 feet things opened up to around 30' vis. It was probably 15' shallower than 40-50.

Keystone Sunday 11/15 nice slack and a good 20ft viz not bad with all the rain. I it was still a bit stirred up by the wind waves and so it might improve.

Hoodsport, 11-17:
Chocolate soup from 0-10fsw, then opens up nice below that. Maybe 15-20ft vis.

Has anyone dived the coves after this last week's rain? What's the viz been like?
I have a class and my usual spot (Mukilteo T-dock) looks like chocolate soup.

Day Island: 11/14 - about 12', 11/18 -maybe 10' max.

FWIW the surface at the Aquarium, which gets more of the Duwamish flow than the Coves, is maybe 4 inches. The cold water exhibits which get their water (highly filtered) from about 50' deep show noticeable fine particulates.

Cove 2, Saturday morning 11/21. Let's just say that I had to find the line under the dive float by braille today - and you didn't dare drop a fin in the shallows (just not going to find it). First 10' was probably 6-10" (yes, inches, not feet) max, opening up at 25' to about 5', maybe up to about 8-10' or so in the 50-60 fsw range.

Sund Rock, Saturday 11/21

0-10fsw: 3-5' vis. Noticeably colder, freshwater turbidity, thermocline at 10fsw
11-25fsw: 5-10'vis.
25fsw+: 10-20'vis

A great Thanksgiving started out at 0730 at Cove 2. Viz has noticeably better, considering the mud last weekend and the wind storm Tuesday, increased to a milky hazy 10-15 in the shallows and maybe 10-12 down below 20 or so. Water temp has evened out with no noticeable thermocline as of this morning. Should be a nice weekend.

Did a bandito boat ride today and hit North Wall and Zee's Reef. 3 to 5 feet on North Wall with lots of actual trees floating by on the surface. Zee's was better at 5-10 feet of visibility with the aid of 1000 lumens. Lets just say it was a super macro +5 sort of dive.

TTN was about 15' this morning. Looked like it was going to be amazing from the surface, but looks were deceiving. There is a ton of fine, grainy particulate in the water column, I'm guessing from the river runoff. Hoping things start clearing up a bit and we can find some of our Winter viz!

Edmonds Underwater park:
