Hood Canal, Pinnacle and Black Point 01/04

Post by selkie »

I dove with Pacific Adventures yesterday. Don and Mike ran a great boat as always. We started at the Panicle with a 3ft swell and a northerly surface wind current. The visibility was 20 to 30ft. Lots of lingcod sitting on eggs and the usual wolf eels and GPO’s. Getting back on the boat was a bit tricky. The swells had picked up and I think I used a couple hundred PSI just holding onto and climbing the ladder.

Second dive was at Black Point which was much calmer. We saw one wolf eel and five GPO’s. The visibility was 15 to 20ft before some of us churned up the bottom. By the time we recovered our last diver it was snowing sideways which made for a hairy drive back to Portland.

Pacific Adventures was great as always and I recommend diving with them particularly now with the decent visibility in the canal.

Sorry no pictures I am still saving for a camera.
