another cool Redondo dive

Post by Grateful Diver »

Hooked up with Valerie for an after-work splash this evening. As we were gearing up she said her goal for this dive was to find a stubby squid. Found two, actually ... here's one of 'em ...

Image

We also found a large snailfish in a jar ...

Image

a bunch of tiny red shrimp ...

Image

... and ... well ... I just seem to keep interrupting the natives while they're busy repopulatin' the place ...

Image

Another fine evening spend kickin' around the local mudhole ...

A bit murky tonight ... maybe 15 feet. Still lots of runoff coming down the pipe.

BTW - ordered my new camera setup today ... hope to be putting up some wide angle shots in a coupla weeks.

The new setup is a Canon G10 with Fisheye FIX housing, 15mm wide-angle port, YS-110a strobe and dual Ultralite strobe arms ... I'm going to use my little YS-25 as a slave strobe for the other side. Now that I've gotten some nice macro shots from Redondo, I'd like to complete the "scenery" with some shots of structure and divers. Hopefully this new setup will give me some quality wide-angle capability.

WOW, Must be nice to have such deep pockets! That is one unusual and pricey housing. Hope it works out.

And this cute little pygmy poacher, which just happened to be in front of two sprigs of somthing, that made him look like he had two enormous horns.

I am well aware of how hard Bob works. He is probably the most energetic 56 year old I know. And so did I. But I have 10 years on Bob and was a victim of Boeing's penchant for moving operations to cheaper locations. I chose not to move to Wichita and away from every place I love.

This is one thread hijack that can stop now. This doesn't need to turn into statements about who has what money, who works hard, or who's luckier than who. Let's turn the discussion back to the primary topic.
