Outstanding pictures everybody. I love the deep pictures you took John. I've been to Nootka twice now and dove both times, but I need to make a trip up when salmon fishing isn't foremost in my mind. Thanks for sharing the photos everyone.

Can anyone explain to me why we wouldn't have these corals here in the sound? Especially up in the San Juans where some of the topograghy is similiar to that of Nootka? If we did have it here, where would one look? I would love to find some here, even if there was less of it and smaller in size.

I'm no Marine Biologist, but my guess is that the amazing amount of current and tidal exchange that Vancouver Island, and the rest of the Pacific Ocean, gets, has something to do with it. Puget Sound is kind of a dead end- we get all the currents, but it's a one-way in, one-way out kind of ecosystem. Canada has us beat, as far as diving goes.

Shoot, you guys with your awesome trip reports and stunning photos. I'm falling way behind! I gotta get off of my arse and get something together. Okay, soon. Very, very soon....

btw, John, have I ever told you how AWESOME it is to get a picture of oneself when you're the one usually taking photos of others?! I'm going to have to ask you for the high res versions of some of those shots you have of me. They're fantastic!

John - Love the pics!

Calvin - Wow! Mr. silver-tongued orator! You did as good a job capturing the trip with your words as you did with your camera, and that's saying something.

I finally got a chance to sit down and look everyone's reports and related photographs... and Jebus! Color me wicked jealous. I'm adding these series to my list of "Oh so you think that tropical diving is better?" photos.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write reports and post photos. It's easy to keep all that within your dive buddies circles. I totally appreciate the effort and time it took to get all that together. More of us should make the time to share our diving adventures... myself included.

Calvin.... you have a delightful flair for underwater melodrama. Totally fun read.

Why aren't there any embarrassing topside photos of anyone?

Wow. What amazing pictures. Thanks to you all for sharing them with us. Sounds like a fun trip to take.

Will have to add it to the diving destination list....so many trips, so little vacation time. :)

What exactly is there to be embarrassed about here?

The question is... who is teaching who here? I'm pretty sure Calvin is getting fulled schooled.
