Me too, me too! The kids are *all* in school for the first time. I'd love to meet up, I am free most weekdays after 8:30am until about 4pm. Headed on vacation from 10/11-20 though so I'll be diving the Riviera Maya then. Weekends are tough, but if you're headed out please let me know! I've been trying all summer to get out and go crabbing, the only opportunity I had was in OR and the crabbing wasn't great and I didn't have a chance to pick up a license. It's always some fish story or another!

I'm up for trying to get some crab, summer season was great on the days I made it out. I'm thinking of heading out at 0-dark-30 Friday morning (I'm up at 0430 every day anyway), see whats left at the T-dock if anyone wants to join.
Re: Snatch crabs around Seattle
fyi mukilteo is closed due to the bulkhead being repaired..
NWDC Rule #2 Pictures Or it didn't Happen
Re: Snatch crabs around Seattle
Just the oil docks? Or does that effect the t-dock area as well?H20doctor wrote:fyi mukilteo is closed due to the bulkhead being repaired..
I think you've figured out the root cause of your problems. Even sea lions get annoyed by splitfin divers silting out their dive sites. Switch back to your jets and you'll be safe from the sea lion silt prevention patrol from now on. - NWbrewer

Another update, I stopped by after work tonight and indeed it's fenced around the bulkhead construction, but the left a path to the stairs for beach access.

Re: Snatch crabs around Seattle
Just an update for y'all....
Brandon and I met up at 10ish and met some folks coming out of the water for NWDC and around the sound. Viz was awesome once you got below 15' (for here) and we 'caught crabs' so it was a successful dive.
The parking area where we all like to park is taken up with work machinery and roped off. The seawall is being repaired and it looks like the job will take a while longer. They have a fence up and have left access open to the stairs to get to the beach. So, as long as you don't mind walking from the east street parking it should be just fine.
The day was beautiful, viz was great, caught nearly our limit (not bad for two first-timers) and we even had the pleasure of seeing two juvenile wolf eels out for a pleasure cruise as well as a green moray. I've not encountered them out and about like that before, so that was pretty cool!
Jimothy, I can escape and be there as early as 9am. Is that too late for you? If so, holler, I can beg the hubby to run kids to the bus and meet you at the butt-crack of dawn if you want.
We left y'all a few crab down there, no worries. Lots of girls and smalls, so I guess it is fun to pick through them and risk a pinch or two.
