CANCELLED- Lake Crescent March 24th

I need a dive buddy for Lake Crescent March 24th or 25th. Provided it's within my level of training I'll do any profile you want for the first dive, but for the second I want to do a simple dive of 30-40 minutes no deeper than 60 ffw or so.

The purpose is to play with weighting for a gear configuration that I have never matched up before. A single AL80, with my drysuit and BP/W. I'm going to Bonne Terre Mines in Missouri at the end of the month, and want to get my weighting/gear all dialed in for freshwater before I go.

I have done Lake Crescent a number of times, and this would be a fun time to take out someone who has never done it before. A lot of people do Lake Crescent to go deep, which is fun, but please don't feel that you have to want to go deep in order to dive with me this weekend. Anyone just willing to put up with me playing with gear, enjoying good vis and getting wet qualifies.

I've always done Sledgehammer before, and was considering the east beach barge because I believe east beach is closed to diving during the summer so this would be the time to do it. But I'm willing to give the underwater forest a shot. It might not be so bad if we scootered. You have a scooter, right H2odoctor?

I'll be up that way the week before so I can look and see how far it looks like it is from parking to the cove they're talking about.

I can do it on the 25th. Does that work for you Defied and H20Doctor?

P.S. If someone comfortable in the water wanted to join, but doesn't have a scooter I'm sure we can tow someone for the first dive while we look for the underwater forrest and clip off/kick once we find it. So someone interested in that arangement can still speak up and join us.

I've done East beach in the summer, never seen a closure sign or anything.

I've never dove freshwater, might be fun for a change. Not having to rinse of all my gear... I could only do saturday though.

I was trying to locate it once, thought this was it:

but on second thought, it doesn't look like a forest. I think there should be some upright standing trees.

Yes I have a scooter, and the 2 dive profiles work for me.

I would love to go and that weekend works great for me. I don't have a scooter however. Jeff, I can do sat and sun so if you want to go up Sat I'd dive with you and then I would just stay over and come back after the dives on Sun. If you're up for that. Also, I did bonne terre mines this last summer with my dad and it was GREAT! We did 5 of the trails. Such an awesome experience.

Depends if something comes up thats closer, its a long drive. depends if I can talk the wifey, maybe make a weekend of it and find a hotel somewhere. Devils punchbowl looks pretty cool, but not as a shore dive. Sledgehammer has some appeal.

I'm inclined to agree with defied, but we'll have to see what's going on with my cylinders (I just took some tanks in today for Hydro, so we'll see if they're back by the 24th). If they are I may stick around and do a third with you Jeff, but don't want to commit to anything.

So for the Record .... these dives will be Saturday March 24th!

It is about a 2.5 hour drive from Tacoma, and 3 hours from Seattle. So let's say meet at 10AM, and splash about 11 or so,

Second dive that way around 2 or 3 .

Bring a packed lunch!
