If you are having problems with neck seals, stop using bioseals. bioseals are known to degrade latex it says right on the packaging.

Diving concepts also makes something similar to the bioseal. I haven't tried it yet, but I will have some in this week. My sister is going to use it with her suit, so I will give a report soon.

ON THE TOPIC OF NEXT SEALS.... CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT A REASONABLE PRICE IS TO REPLACE A LATEX NECK SEAL ON A BI-LAM SHELL SUIT?

Man ... price is all over the board on this one. Since I sell a lot of seals to the shops, I see everything from about a $35 DIY to over $100.

I suggest that you take it to someone that has done a few of them so that it gets done right the first time.

I know that TLSea charges $70 for a replacement...higher than it used to be...but they are a pain to replace...so definitely fair. They'll have it done in a couple days, if necessary, just let them know when you need it. I've always had good luck there and they use a higher quality neck seal.

Tacoma Scuba also does a great job...no leaks upon re-entry to the water. Couldn't get ahold of Wally or Brian though...but I'll bet it's the same or LESS than TLSea.

Just talked to Wally over at Tacoma Scuba...it's $65 there...can be done by next day if they have it in stock.

I remember reading it somewhere -- was it in the instructions in the box?
It also recommended rinsing the latex seals in fresh water inside and out after a dive with the bioseals.

I think I have about 100 dives on my latex seals with bioseals by now, and they haven't shown any particular wear yet. We'll see how long they'll stand up to the abuse.

However, I must say the bioseals really rock. I used to get wet arms on dives moving my hands around a lot (such as moving stage bottles and deco tanks back and forth), but the bioseals really seal extremely well around the tendon.
