Sund Rock - This Sat June 8th, am dive

Post by olalladiver »

We'll be at Hoodsport'n'Dive when they open at 8am this Saturday. Bi-splash, the first being asap after we get the gate key and the second at the appropriate time after that (10ish I suppose?).

PM me if you'd like to join. (Probably won't be online after about noon tomorrow.) Both of our first time there at Sund, and we're expecting great things from what we've heard.

Experienced Sund Divers: Feel free to chime in with advice for where to go and what to look for, since both me and my buddy are Sund Virgins.

The shop has a good map there. Depends all in what you want to see. Wolf eels are always on the north wall. The wreak is not bad if vis is good. There are other cool things there too.

Werd. And whatever that thing is in your avatar pic, json. I'd kinda dig seeing a couple of those. Would like to poke them with a stick and feed them tiny hotdogs with tweezers.

Jason, damn that avatar's creepy! What/where is it from?

Sounds like you'll have great guides at the site. The fishbowl is one of my fav areas (top of north wall) and don't discount the shallows between the north and south walls. I've seen giant nudibranch mating games there, and grunt sculpin!

Thanks for the pointers all..

First dive was ok, but actually had more fun on the second, shallow dive... Vis wasn't great but still worthwhile to dive above about 35 fsw...
