On a separate note, do you have a smokin' light rig to use with your Go-Pro? I will volunteer the rig that Doc built for me. It throws some serious lumens! :supz:

There r going to be some birds on the island for sure....
On the island there are:

250,000 breeding pairs of Fork-tailed Storm-petrels and Leach's Storm-petrels.
4-5,000 Common and Thick-billed Murres.
1,500-2,000 breeding pairs of Tufted Puffins.
1,000 breeding pairs of Rhinoceros Auklets.
Other less populous species include: Pigeon Guillemots, Glaucous-winged Gulls, Ancient Murrelets, Cassin's Auklets, Bald Eagles, Peregrine Falcons, and Black Oystercatchers.
In nesting areas on the island, the bird density can reach 7000 birds per acre.[2]
The only trees on the island are Sitka Spruce which are located at the highest points of elevation.

Hi Dave, I just noticed this post. Does St. Lazaria get dove often - what are the logistics like? My father actually made a short documentary about the wildlife there - both above and below the waterline - in the 80s with Rick Rosenthal. Ever since seeing that film I've been curious about putting together a trip there and possibly continuing on with some more documentation. I'd be stoked to see any video that it sounds like you guys may have shot.
