Finally! back to PT again!
Finally! back to PT again!
I'm heading back up on Monday for a week. My broken fridge in the RV is back up and running and the eye Doc says it's OK to play with the fishies again. Now to see if my rickety old bod is still up to it? I have no idea what the viz is like but next week is the best currents you'll get this month.

Re: Finally! back to PT again!
Vis today was 10+ ft, or better.
Kim and I did a drift dive from the old Swains parking lot to the Maritime center, with vehicles staged at either end. All was great until we got out... and he told me that he left his keys back in my truck at the starting point. So I trudged all the way through downtown PT in my drysuit. Oooh, I'm not going to let him forget this one!

Hi Tim, yeah let's go diving again!
We're finding little treasures.Yesterday my buddy found a nice little cream pitcher [insert envy here]. I found... the remains of an brass (artillery?) shell.

Re: Finally! back to PT again!
That definitely looks like some kind of an artillery shell to me. Couldn't even begin to tell you what though. Good find, that's cool.
Re: Finally! back to PT again!
Judging from size compared to the other objects I'd say 20mm anti aircraft.

Re: Finally! back to PT again!
If there's one, there's probably lots more of those brass casings around. Methinks.
Finally! back to PT again!
Bigger than 20 mm I think. More like 30 mm.
Re: Finally! back to PT again!
Vis yesterday was 10-15 ft, once we got below the silt stirred up by the windy conditions. Prob'ly better today.

Cool, I was hoping that it wasn't green out conditions like it is in this end of the sound! You need sonar and a buddy leash down here.60south wrote:Vis yesterday was 10-15 ft, once we got below the silt stirred up by the windy conditions. Prob'ly better today.
Good chance there would be more. Those were used in anti aircraft fire and it'd pretty hard to do single shot with those guys.

Great find Glenn, can't wait to get back in the water for some bottle hunting.
